The Tibetan Policy Act of of 2019 has passed the US House and is currently making its way to the US Senate. It is a reformed version of the Tibetan Policy Act of 2002. This bill will make it US policy that the succession of Tibetan Buddhist leader are left solely to Tibetan Buddhists to choose, and not the Chinese government. It also prevents another Chinese consulate into the US until a US consulate is allowed into Lhasa, Tibet. Those are just two of the mamuy benefits of this bill.
